Wooburn Fete 2019

Held on The Green in the centre of the village, Wooburn Fete has become a firm fixture in the June calendar for residents and visitors.  The Fete’s aim is to bring together the community and showcase all the wonderful groups and activities available to us; the Scouts, the Guides, the WI, St Paul’s and the Community Churches and Revive the Wye. A variety of delicious homemade cakes, cream teas and a bbq are usually on offer. Local businesses are invited to take a pitch giving visitors an opportunity to shop.

The local schoolchildren delight and entertain with St Paul’s CofE Combined School’s country dancing and Wooburn Green Primary School singing. The Sappers’ Singers or other local choirs join us to sing before the tug o’ war competition – the highlight of which has been the children trying to move the Scout Leader’s Land Rover.

If we should encounter the usual British weather, it does not matter - the show goes on.  In previous years we have enjoyed the Blend Choir’s fabulous singing to lift our spirits despite a thunderstorm and a monsoon!
